The Future Leader Award programme is designed to teach children the essential qualities needed to develop leadership skills. About Future Leader Award
The Future Leader Award is a fully resourced scheme of work to be delivered by teachers in schools. Its aim is to teach children the essential qualities needed to develop leadership skills. As adults, we often expect children to lead without fully exploring the specific skills and qualities they need to succeed. We believe that leadership is a skill that can be nurtured—leaders are made, not born. Drawing on extensive research and in collaboration with organisations like the Center for Creative Leadership, which has been studying leadership for over 60 years, we’ve developed a programme that allows children to learn and practice individual leadership qualities through engaging and fun activities. By the end of the programme, children gain valuable insights on how to be effective leaders and can apply what they’ve learnt both in school and in life.

Teaching effective communication skills to children today will help to build successful leaders of the future. It is imperative that children are taught from a young age explicit leadership traits. This will empower them with the skills necessary to motivate teams, unlock potential, and navigate change. I have seen first hand the impact of the Future Leader Award and urge schools and parents to get on board!
